Altern8 consisted of 2 producers Mark Archer & Chris Peat. They originally started out as Nexus 21 (and apparently before that they were deck chair salesmen or something?) as a pure techno act, but they decided to produce Hardcore & Rave under the name Altern8.

Back in 1992, a certain tune entitled 'Let Me Be Your Fantasy' was released by Production House records by a group of artists called Baby D. The tune was a big underground hit and was constantly in the top 200 for 2 years selling over 40,000 copies.

Chopping breakbeats like some fierce demon swordsman Gavin Cheung drops tunes as Cloud 9, Nookie an on his own Daddy Armshouse label. It's different names for different styles. Where Armshouse focused on the jungle, Cheung leads the field in generating grins, happiness and full-on dancefloor mania as Nookie.

DJ Flashback started Dj'ing in 1990 whilst studying at Surrey Univerrity. He played at all of the University events and had his own show on Radio Surrey from 1990-1991. Soon after he became a regular on Greenapple pirate radio. He organised and played at raves whilst still at Uni, in 1991, booking PA's such as The Scientist, HHFD and K-Klass. Also at this time he played at Kemistry on the South Coast, The Milk Bar and The Marquee in London.
