" Back in '93 my feelings whilst making 'In Complete Darkness' was that the music was changing to a much darker sound whilst I preferred the more happier side of things. I preferred emotive strings, stab patterns and pianos. As it looked like the scene was starting to divide my idea behind 'In Complete Darkness' was that no matter what the genre of rave music, we was all ravers and irrespective of our differences within music we should just get on and rave as one..."

I love the way he talks about that track as if it's something he wrote

Don't get me wrong it's a great track, but it's just a mash up of samples. No more original than anything on Question Mark or Naughty Naughty.

Hi,
Good point, it is just a load of samples, and not exactly well put together. Tho, I do like the original still...

There's nothing wrong with samples (I'm certainly no musician!) but I don't really think you can harp on like John Williams about string and stab patterns when you've literally taken 3 loops from house records and put a breakbeat over them

yeah i was thinking that too! ditto the bit about people with the lyrics tattooed on them. i'm glad he's humble about it cos surely the credit there is Janet Jackson?
then again i suppose it would sound a bit dismissive if he just said "ah it's just bits of other people's tunes"

That's pretty much what I say when anyone tells me they like one of my tracks :)
