Re: Fusion This Saturday

Its not that small, 1200 capacity one of the bigger clubs in town! Totally agree they are nothing like the old ones though, in those days 9 out of 10 people would be mashup and its probably the opposite now. Its a great atmosphere in there though, this will be the fourth one. It does get busy but no...

Re: Fusion This Saturday

Haha cheers Rich :D Yeah to be fair Dougal probably gets the biggest reaction there, Fusion was traditionally a Happy Hardcore rave so I can understand that, plus Rich is right Ratty cleared the floor, it wasn't that he was playing bad tunes (Drummer of Doom, Mayday Mayday, New Direction etc) but it...

Re: Fusion This Saturday

It's usually pretty good in there mate, will be up and comers so House, DnB, Hardcore, bit of everything. The previous Fusions had a healthy amount of 92-3 in the main room which made the night for me, don't know why they've gone so heavy on the HH.

It's a nice venue if you haven't been before!

Re: Fusion This Saturday

Will be there, its my Birthday on Saturday. Not feeling the look of the line up one bit but living in hope that it isn’t going to be the HH fest I’m predicting. Can envisage spending a lot of time in the DnB room!

Have to meet up with you peeps :)

The Paradise in Islington that went on to become Complex? (There were two if memory serves). Loved that place.

Re: Borai - Anybody from London EP

I agree. And listening again, after that intro I don't think the drop smashes it nearly enough. This guy is from Bristol, and really you need to be from London to use the sample with the irony that Mad P said it. A nice release overall still, some nice sounds in the tracks. Not sure of the whole sto...

Re: do you agree with Cox here?

This is a beauty from 98, kills it on a system. Can hear Jack Smooth influences with its stab melody :D

Long ass intro though, they are probably quarter that these days! It gets good at 2:00.

Re: do you agree with Cox here?

D&B only started around '97. So it's hard to say it was dead by '98! I would say between 94 and 95, we were using that term then. For real, I remember Basement having separate DnB and Jungle sections as early as 94, it's probably fair to say it's open to interpretation though, what is Jungle, what ...

Halloween Hardcore

This was a thread on FB. If you were playing on Halloween what spooky tunes would you play?

Re: RIP Diane Charlemagne

Seems bit out of context talking about such things in light of the thread Not at all, what better way to pay tribute than celebrate her music which touched our lives. :) Kemistry is such a beautiful track and doubly poignant now. Inner City Life sounds as fresh and fitting today as it did 20 years ...
