Re: Best & Worst you've DJ'ed at?

Best: It probably would have to be Notting Hill Carnival at some point in the mid-90s @ our old pitch Southern Row / East Row. We still had our Bedford MK army truck & the park still existed in entirety next to our pitch (they built a sports pitch and buildings on half of it later). We had properly ...

Re: Network my hardcore tunes....

Hmm that adds a different dimension to things!

I am not sure if I would need the availability anywhere as such - though I hadn't really considered it tbh - it was more an in-house solution I was pondering.

Now I am thinking why limit yourself though if you can stream to say a smart phone...

Network my hardcore tunes....

Alright people. OK - cheating a bit with the title as this is just a general NAS-based query for ALL my music. I want to have some kind of network storage set up to play (mainly) music & also work as a repository for films / pictures to view. What would you recommend? In fact, what would p...

Re: An answer i had from Jack Smooth..

IT for Airline industry doesn't sound tedious to me (I'm in business software). IT people never get the respect they deserve, it can be a thankless task... "it never goes wrong, why do we pay you? - it's gone wrong, why do we pay you?" Without IT the world would probably stop, I appreciate what (go...

Re: An answer i had from Jack Smooth..

@33:45 / @ 38:35 - Come on! \:D/ Some of those little riffs are pretty good - especially on the SOR2 soundtrack. -> Initial release date: December 20, 1992 -> nuff said! From Wiki: The soundtrack for Streets of Rage 2 was composed by Yuzo Koshiro, along with three contributions from Motohiro Kawashi...

Cheers Phil - on the d/l

No stress though, nice tunes!

Re: Jack Smooth interview

That was a great read - thanks to Ian & of course Ron. It's nice to see such humility in a dance scene promoted by so many pricks at the time. =D> 2 quotes I absolutely love: Ron - "They say that 'you can't polish a turd, but you can roll one in glitter'... that's probably true of music production."...

Re: An answer i had from Jack Smooth..

@RG - well remembered mate: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UFrcwk5my7g It still sounds pretty mad! Actually - I still love it & now I am wondering if I can class this as my first hardcore tune?! Gameplay: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mrRVQNYy19I I am firmly of the belief that old skool...

Re: An answer i had from Jack Smooth..

Ha cheers RG there is always that chance so will give them a listen! I also get the prog rock thing though the likes of Caravan is perhaps a step too far. I love weird time signatures too. King Crimson - Frame by Frame springs to mind. Watched a few interviews with Tony Levin whilst away too. It's w...

Re: An answer i had from Jack Smooth..

Ha ha - not had an Ozrics rant in years - it felt good  I was working in Gurgaon (Delhi) for 2 weeks then had 5 days at the end for a bit of a holiday. One of the lads I was working with mentioned Udaipur... and I've ended up staying here all 5 days! Delhi for any length of time is a stress...

Re: An answer i had from Jack Smooth..

@Ron... Just following on from a Kraftwork remark of mine several chapters back  Let me just say that the Ozric Tentacles have got to be one of the worst bands in the history of music. Their annoying trite pestered me throughout the 90's & quite frankly their followers' annoyed me almost as...
