Re: The man who started Fantazia
Yes apparently the money came from compilation albums, not the events. His brother Charlie still owns Fantazia and leases the brand out to various people to put on events.

Re: The man who started Fantazia
Great read, one of the few people who did anything sensible with the money they made back then.

Re: Network my hardcore tunes....
I use a Now TV Box and Plex. You can buy the box for £15 here: http://www.nowtv.com/box Plex is free. Install it on both the Now TV box and your computer (which can be anywhere in the house on the same network) and you can then stream films, music, photos and even IPTV streams (eg dodgy football lin...

Re: Best & Worst you've DJ'ed at?
So many bad ones  I've lost count of the amount of empty rooms I've played to, but you really never know what it's going to be like until you get there, even if it's a big event. One that springs to mind is an event in Exeter in 2002 that Dougal was headlining, it was literally empty. He was pl...

Re: An answer i had from Jack Smooth..
This one could be a question for Phil, so appologies if this isnt your domain: Before signing for MCA, what happened to the tracks after you had finished with them in the studio? Did a mixing engineer at a different studio get to do the final mix? Where they mastered for vinyl before going to the p...

Re: Jack Smooth interview
Phil's reply is interesting, I know people who worked for his distribution company over the years and they also share the opinion it was terribly managed. Some people seem to confuse success with being in the right place at the right time. Enough morons ran a record label back in the day, it wasn't ...

Re: Bargain 92 tunes for under a tenner
I've had loads of people asking me what this is after playing it as my last track at Riverdance last month. It was made in 1994 but sounds just like a 92 track. It's an early track by Jim Sullivan AKA Trixxy who made some of the best happy hardcore in the late 90s before moving on to more mainstream...

Re: RIP Diane Charlemagne
Yeah the 'coming down' outro of Kemistry is easily one of my favourite parts of any hardcore track. I could listen to it on repeat!

Re: do you agree with Cox here?
HTID was Hixxy's brand/concept to start with, there was an album in about 2004 and their very first event was at Enzo's in Salisbury, where Adrenalin used to be held in the 90s. I don't know the exact details but Mark Lambert got involved in 2005ish, and they ran it together for several years at lea...

Re: do you agree with Cox here?
What is the Hardcore scene like right now? The last boom, IMO, was in 2005 (amazing times), but then it fizzled out. Is it still healthy but underground? Or is it completely done? I honestly have no idea mate. Although I haven't liked the music since about 99 I did keep up to date with it til about...

Re: do you agree with Cox here?
it is funny that there's basically a small group of people: Bradley Carter, Trixxy, Fade, DNA, Jon Doe, Devastate, Austin Reynolds, Mickey Skeedale, Al Storm, Scott Brown, Sunset Regime, UFO, Luna C, Ham - who between them made a significant majority of all (UK) 90s happy hardcore  i'm cur...
