Re: Amiga turns 30
I feel I have to post this in this forum rather than an Amiga one for two reasons; first is that I think it's an important anniversary worth noting in a wider sense, and second is that although other retro computer forums are where I think most would be posting their thoughts and memories, for me t...

Re: OLDSKOOL BASS HELP
The bass in the Nookie tune is just a basic sine or triangle wave - you should be able to get that from any synth without much messing around. The Bizarre Inc tune uses a famous preset sound from the old Yamaha DX100 synth: http://www.vintagesynth.com/yamaha/dx100.php It's called Solid Bass, you sho...

Can we have Sapho records, too (sub label)? Darkstar, Onyx III and Energy Zone, all good stuff!

Re: Fozbee & Cooz
Does anyone still have the Fozbee & Cooz CD referred to in this thread or know where to get one? Wish I had known about it back then.

Oh yeah, you could also look out for the Roland HS1 which is basically the Alpha in a different box, often turns up cheaper. I think there's also a HS model equivalent of the 106.

Re: An answer i had from Jack Smooth..
Juno 106 is a great synth even though it's very basic - it's easy to get results from. The problem with analogue synths of that era is they're pretty costly to maintain as the components are often starting to fail. With the Juno 106, apparently the voice chips are prone to failure. They're easy enou...

This EP is great:

I think most of the tunes on there still stand up, and it looks like the value is creeping up on discogs - I'm sure I sold a copy for something silly like £2 or £3 about 5 years ago.

Re: Cleveland City Records
Great label, some of them sound a tad dated, but there are quite a few tunes on Cleveland City that you could still drop today (e.g. Chubby Chunks). I always loved the Jon Da Silva & McReady mix of Hey Mr DJ, top breakbeat tune. Obviously made to look like an American house label with the label desi...
