Re: Ratty one more set?
Love his sets, no anthem bashing in sight, but also not super nerdy - really good and 'of the time' from what I can hear. I've made it a point last 2 UK trips to go see him even when it's been far outside London, and it's been more than worth it both times :) Hope he doesn't retire, he didn't strike...

Re: Any goals (musically) for next year?
* Finish some new tunes, and mix/master them properly. I was lucky to have some (non-oldskool) tunes played in a few high profile mixes this year but was dismayed by how those tunes sounded in those mixes. * Tighten up my mixing, no excuse for sneakers-in-the-dryer especially when doing a net radio ...

Re: Borai - Anybody from London EP
Not a big fan of that Borai. Oldskool seems to just be a defacto thing all sorts of younger artists can reference for instant points without thinking it through much or doing anything clever with it. Not that I expect everyone to do clever stuff - I'm perfectly happy w/ stuff that shows knowledge + ...

Re: Reinforced box Set
I think the 7" format, aside from them doing something a little different, might be because Reinforced main guys are serious R+B / Jazz/ Soul / Funk / Rare groove fanatics, and obviously that music is heavily 45-centric (sets full of it, separate bags just to transport em). Could also be just to be ...

Also count me in the camp that never had a problem with the "want you now" remix piano. Remix is a HUGE favorite of me (that bass!!), piano always seemed to go OK with the pads to me, not like that "warning" track anyway.

Yeah I forgot about those crowd pleasers records, props to SS for making records that manage to sound dodgy in a scene where dodge is the name of the game =D> parts that might even have red alert + mike slammer raising an eyebrow! It's all good though, I doubt he or any of his camp were taking...

Agreed, a good read for certain and I'd love to hear more stories from the guy. Aside from the strange chronology though, the way it is written feels like it has been shaped into an cliche hollywood movie, where at every turn he is the perfect hero and others around him are the villains who always e...

Controlling what's on their site doesn't make them nazis. There is a big difference between making it illegal to sell stuff like this altogether anywhere, and a private website saying "we don't want this stuff on our site" and refusing to feature it or sell it. In Discogs' case, they even let people...
